Dr Scott enjoyed a fantastic break in Bali. He is spending far too much time watching AFL and planning his dreamteam.
Claire caught up with some friends and family over the Easter break.
Kelly and her husband enjoyed a lovely few child-free days down south last month.
YOUR HEALTH CHOICES ARE AT RISK!
At KEY Chiropractic we have helped many newborns have a more comfortable start to life by gently adjusting their spines using remarkably safe Chiropractic techniques. Parents have often commented that their babies are more relaxed, easier to settle, cry less, sleep better and even sometimes are less colicky.
You may have recently seen the Chiropractic profession’s reputation tarnished because of a Facebook post where a Chiropractor was adjusting a 2 week old baby. Whilst the Chiropractor in question did nothing wrong (except being recorded for Facebook), nothing illegal or dangerous and whilst no-one was hurt or injured, and the parents were happy with the care, Chiropractic was maligned in all sorts of media.
As I always say to friends / family of patients who come in to ‘observe what goes on behind closed doors’, Chiropractic is not a spectator sport! Like so many other things, if you don’t know what you are watching, it can seem quite concerning or even risky (in untrained hands I guess it would be!). That’s why I always give a quick explanation about Chiropractic and what we are doing to anyone observing what I do. When they understand what I do and why I do it, and what we are achieving, every-one is happy.
Because of the media storm, there are now people who are wanting to take away your right to choose Chiropractic care for your children. If they do this, what next? No Chiropractic care for the elderly? For pregnant women? For teenagers? Where will it stop?
Be Warned! Your health. Your Choice.

TIME FLIES
When Dr Scott purchased Main Chiropractic (now KEY Chiropractic), his daughter was soon to be born! She has just celebrated her 16th birthday. How time flies! So much has changed over the years, not only in the world but at KEY Chiropractic. And of course Dr Scott’s beautiful baby has grown into an amazing young lady.
Happy Birthday Holly!
SPINAL HEALTH WEEK THIS YEAR WE ARE ASKING “ARE YOU READY FOR LIFE?”
Life is full of the unknowns, we want to encourage everyone to do all they can to prepare their spine for the future. According to the World Health Organization, musculoskeletal conditions that reduce mobility, dexterity and functional ability, are the second largest cause of disability worldwide. Musculoskeletal conditions can have a damaging effect on your quality of life by affecting your ability to participate in work, social activities and sports. You can take simple and practical steps now to be ready for life at any age:
IMPROVE POSTURE
An increase in our sedentary lifestyles has increased the severity of poor posture and in turn its effects on our health. When posture is poor, this increases pressure on your spine causing tension, soreness, headaches, back pain and fatigue. A healthy posture is all about healthy movement, by both your spine and your body. It does take discipline to correct poor posture, but there’s no doubt the benefits are well worth the effort.
The Straighten Up app, developed by the Australian Chiropractors
Association (ACA) is designed to help everyday Australians maintain and improve their spinal health. Use the app to set reminders and receive notifications about sitting right, stretching, improving posture and even staying hydrated.
KEEP ACTIVE
An active spine is a healthy spine. This is important at any age. Exercise and physical activity have great positive effects on the spine including the stretching, strengthening and repairing of muscles that help support the back. Regular exercise can also reduce the risk of heart disease, lower blood pressure, build stronger bones, increase your energy, improve sleep patterns and so much more.
If the gym or sports field isn’t for you then walking is another great way to keep active. Some benefits of brisk walking include increasing your heart and lung fitness, muscle strength and endurance, and it contributes to a naturally upright posture.
CHIRO CAN HELP
Your spine supports you. Growing from birth and moving with you at every stage of life. Whether you’re hula hooping in the park, jumping on a trampoline or just getting dressed, it is important that your spine is always Ready for Life.
Good posture and exercising regularly are important factors in maintaining spinal health. Visiting a chiropractor as part of your spinal healthcare regime can assist with ensuring that these practices are maintained.
